OUR STORY

We met in the Summer of 2022. Donal was living in Edinburgh and Daniel was living in his hometown of Hawick in the Scottish Borders, around 50 miles south.

Donal got an introduction to the Scottish Borders from our very first date during a wet Friday evening in late June, before Daniel got the chance to explore Cushendall on his first trip to Ireland for the local Heart of the Glens Festival that August.

This kick started our weekends of exploring that year. In September we headed north into the Highlands to a log cabin in Aviemore for a weekend of Quad Biking, Kayaking along with some chilled time in the hot tub.

Having spent our first Christmas apart, it was decided to spend New Year in Dublin for some more exploring.  This was followed by city breaks to London, Bristol and York as well as holidays to Ibiza, Crete and Majorca.

In 2023, after months of travelling down the A7 and up the A68, we decided to live in Hawick for a couple of years before moving to Edinburgh in the Summer of 2025.

In October 2024, Donal decided to strengthen our relationship by popping the question along the shore of An Lochan Uaine (The Green Loch) on the outskirts of Aviemore;  a town we both love and travelled too on our first weekend away together in Autumn 2022. Thankfully Daniel said YES!!

After months of planning so far, we are full steam ahead with wedding arrangements and the countdown is on.
